March Digital Newsletter, Issue #2
(Extended Break Edition)
Dear Dennis Dolphins,
Many of you may have already heard that the Oklahoma State Board of Education voted today, March 25th 2020, that students not return to physical classrooms for the remainder of the current school year, and to implement distance learning plans as our state continues to fight the spread of COVID-19. Please be patient while our district and schools make decisions and coordinate the necessary efforts to best meet all our students needs with continuing education plans. These unprecedented times will obviously require unprecedented actions. Putnam City and Dennis Elementary will share with us, as soon as possible, any and all information parents will require through their regular channels of communication.
JLD PTO is exploring alternative plans and arrangements for any activities previously scheduled. We will update you with new details and dates as soon as we can. (Events including but not limited to: Fundraiser Incentive Rewards, Boys Event 2020, Tech Talk Night, Movie Night and Annual Smoothie Bundle Refunds.) We plan for the May 5th PTO Member meeting to be held via a live session online, to allow everyone the opportunity to attend and vote for both elections and funding allocations. Stay tuned for more details about all of the above. In the meantime, we hope you saw our facebook post about Virtual Spirit Week this week ... see below. Don't forget to use the #JLDVirtualSpiritWeek when you post!

FREE RESOURCES FOR HOME LEARNING
As we proceed with due caution in this time of uncertainty, we are so grateful for the support from our community of parents, teachers and administrators. It's amazing to see how many resources have become available to help students in our community (and across the nation) while trying to navigate daily life during a pandemic. The following sections of this newsletter outlines helpful information and/or free resources that fellow parents and members discovered. We thought they were share worthy, to help keep the kids from learning loss over the extended break and summer. If you have more resources to share, please feel free to note them in the comments of our facebook post, or at minimum, share them among friends!
We are all in this together. We are stronger together!
