VIRTUAL SUPER KIDS DAY- Mr. Miller made this special video for our Dennis Dolphins!! Check out the different games and ideas for hosting your own Super Kids Day challenges from home! Share your Pictures on Facebook using #JLDSKD2020. *You may wish to get some supplies to execute different games, such as crackers, bubble gum, cookies or a ballon. However, many items for games can be found around the house (like bowls, a ball, a sponge, or a rolled-up sock in place of a bean bag etc.) 

TEACHER APPRECATION WEEK- Help us with our Virtual Teacher Appreciation efforts by visiting this Facebook post and adding comments from your kids for their teachers to see! Post comments on the question pictures, or share any story, sentiment or message under the main comments portion of the post. Be sure to include your kid's name and/or teacher name. PTO will memorialize the messages for the teachers during a special "Welcome Back" day when they report back to school in Fall 2020.

A SPECIAL MESSAGE TO DENNIS DOLPHINS: 

As we reach the end of the school year, I want to extend my sincere gratitude for all your efforts since Covid-19 changed the landscape of our days and lives. You have adapted to unforeseeable circumstances and been challenged in ways unfamiliar to any parent, teacher or student before you. You have made incredible sacrifices while demonstrating patience, resolve, and commitment to your student’s education. Thank you for being part of the solution. All our community, students and student’s families have been affected directly or indirectly from the pandemic. This time has been unprecedented and continues to be clouded with uncertainty. Although navigating this time is difficult, we are Dennis Dolphins and we will persevere! I applaud every student, every parent and every teacher for all that you have done AND all that you will undoubtedly continue to do. If I do not see you again before next year, it has been a honor to serve as your JLD PTO President for the 2019-2020 school year. Stay safe, stay strong and be kind to eachother always.

QUARTERLY MEETING POSTPONED: 

We hope that you will join us at our end of year PTO Member meeting, which is being postponed till later this month/early June. It will be held virtually via Zoom video conference and available to all PTO Members. The exact date and time TBD. A link to join the meeting will be sent out via email as we get closer to the date. *This is the meeting where we vote on proposed funding, elect next year’s board members and do our best to set the stage for the future.Most positions on the board and committees for next year remain to be filled. We encourage any and all parents/grandparents to consider playing a role in next year’s activities (in an executive role, as a committee chair, or as a dedicated “when possible” volunteer.) The PTO is managed and ran purely by volunteers and we can't do all the good stuff without you!

CONGRATULATIONS 5TH GRADE: 

We are very proud of all our 2019-2020 student achievements and wish we could give everyone the recognition they deserve before summer break. If you are the parent of a 5th grade student, please know we still wish to celebrate your student’s accomplishments. We are SO PROUD of you Class of 2027!We know you didn't expect to spend the end of your last year at Dennis in your living room. In the coming weeks, as things further develop, be on the lookout for information about a 5th Grade recognition/reconnection, which is expected to be held at a later date when it is both safe and approved to do so. We also hope 5th graders will consider returning during the Dolphin Splash carnival next year for a chance to reconnect with classmates and watch/partake in dunking Mrs. White in the dunk tank! Hefner Middle School PTO is also currently reaching out all incoming 6th grade families in hopes of finding a new Treasurer and VP of Fundraising! They meet once a month at the school on Mondays at 4:15pm. SMOOTHIE DAY REFUNDS:  If you purchased the Annual Smoothie Bundle (at any point this year) refunds were sent via PayPal to the account that was used for the initial purchase. If you had a problem claiming your refund in PayPal -or- If you do NOT have a PayPal account, but you paid for your smoothies online... please contact our Treasurer via email so we can issue issue you a check! Email jldtreas@gmail.com with your name, student name's and mailing address for us to check the transaction status and get you taken care of. Thank you!
